Soc Gen names new head of private banking

Société Générale Private Banking has promoted Jean-François Mazaud to the role of head of the private banking business.

Mazaud takes on the role from Daniel Truchi who “has decided to pursue new opportunities in the financial sector outside the Société Générale group”.

He moves up from his position as deputy head of global finance for Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking, a position he took on in 2008. He will also take a place on the executive committee of the business and the general management committee of the group.

At the same time, Patrick Folléa has been named deputy head of Société Générale Private Banking, France with supervisory role over operations in Belgium. He had beenthe chief executive officer of Société Générale Private Banking, France, since July 2009
Yves Thieffry, the current deputy head will remain with the bank in an as yet unconfirmed position.

All of these positions take affect from 10 March.
