SimplyBiz is offerings online and face-to-face training at 11 induction days running throughout April for advisers looking to grow their levels of corporate advice.

The Workplace Academy is being run through the support service provider’s New Model Business Academy and in partnership with the Pensions Management Institute.

Workplace benefits

The training programme is designed to help advisers talk to their retail and wealth management clients – who are business owners or leaders – about various workplace benefits, corporate protection and the breadth of discounted, flexible lifestyle benefits available.

Tom Nall, workplace solutions director at SimplyBiz, said: “We know that the corporate market has a huge advice gap; there’s a real need and increasing demand, and yet many advisers are still reticent about entering the workplace market, viewing it as too difficult a market to penetrate.

“The FAMR final report and the recent budget reinforced the role of the workplace as a major way of distributing financial services to the UK population and the role of advisers in ensuring this delivers positive outcomes.

“Undertaking the Workplace Academy’s programme allows advisers to position themselves as specialists in this area.”

Due diligence and research

Meanwhile, support services provider Bankhall is also kicking off a series of 13 advisory workshops through April and May about due diligence and research around investment processes.

Following the thematic review by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on assessing suitability, Bankhall will cover how to measure risk as part of a robust investment process that ensures good outcomes for consumers.

The workshops will also cover changes to capital adequacy requirements and look at how advice firms can carry out successful mergers and acquisitions.

Christian Woodford, head of Bankhall account management, said: “The FCA’s thematic review has shone an important light on the investment advice process. Our team will help firms to examine the factors they need to consider when carrying out research and due diligence in order to ensure good outcomes for their customers.”

Presentations from Architas, Prudential, and Aviva will feature at the workshops.
