The new fund is part of Janus Capital’s Irish-domiciled JCF range and allows European investors (excluding those in Switzerland) access to Gross’s fund.
Gross started managing the fund on his surprise departure from Pimco earlier this year and the US version of the fund has seen very strong inflows since he came on board.
According to Janus, the fund invests in Gross’s highest conviction ideas and has as its key components: Duration flexibility, an absolute return focus, a global opportunity set and a macro-driven strategy.
President of Janus Capital International, Augustus Cheh, said: “Bill’s unconstrained and duration managed strategy could be considered to be a key component to any client portfolio given the interest rate environment. The fund is highly complementary to the very successful fixed income franchise that we have built out over the last decade under the leadership of Fixed Income CIO, Gibson Smith.”
He added that Gross will, together with Myron Scholes, Ashwin Alankar and other members of the team, focus on the expansion of its global asset allocation business.
