UK and US firms team up to create global advisory network

To provide tax and accounting services to individuals and organisations

UK-based wealth group Evelyn Partners – formerly Tilney Smith & Williamson – and US-based accountancy firm CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) have joined forces to create multinational network CLA Global.

Evelyn provides wealth management and professional services, while CLA is the eighth largest accountancy firm in the US.

Both firms are founding members of the CLA Global network, which they believe will fill a gap among professional services organisations especially in the middle-market cross-border sector. The company will take on member firms which provide advisory, tax and accountancy services to both private individuals and organisations.

They believe the newly-formed business could become a top 15 global advisory and accounting company.

CLA Global will officially launch on 1 July 2022, with CLA’s Joe Kask and Evelyn’s Sancho Simmonds making up the office of the chief executive.

‘Next generation of growth’

Andrew Wilkes, incoming chief professional services director at Evelyn Partners, said: “There are many synergies between CliftonLarsonAllen and Evelyn Partners.

“Both of our firms are energised by working with private clients and their business interests and invest a lot in creating opportunities to grow our clients and our people.”

Jen Leary, chief executive of CLA, added: “This is the next generation of growth for us. We saw an opportunity to collaborate and build a global organisation different from any other in our world today.

“We are fundamentally investing in our people, giving them opportunities on a grander scale. What we are creating is exciting for our clients and our team.”

CLA Global said it will announce “additional high-profile counterparts and member firms later in the year”.
