PEOPLE MOVES: CISI, Quilter, Barclays

Trade body names CEO, while head of acquisitions leaves wealth manager

CISI

The trade body has named Tracy Vegro as chief executive, effective from 5 September 2022.

She is currently the executive director for strategy and innovation at the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Prior to that, she had a similar position at the Financial Reporting Council.

Quilter

The UK wealth management giant confirmed Zoe Phillips, head of acquisitions and strategic delivery at Quilter Private Client Advisers, has left the business.

She took over from Dom Rose in August 2020, after serving as M&A manager at the firm between 2018 and 2020.

Sammy Licence, head of commercial development at Quilter, will oversee part of the company’s acquisition strategy going forward.

Barclays

The banking group has made several senior hires across its private banking and wealth divisions.

Ashok Rughwani has taken on the role of director at Barclays Private Bank in Switzerland. He used to work at Credit Suisse, most recently as vice president.

Barclays Wealth Management & Investments has added four staff to its east region team.

Greig Townsend takes on the role of team manager. He was at Santander and previously worked for Barclays for six years as a portfolio manager and private banker.

Benjamin Lamers has been named east region director. He joins from Brown Shipley, where he was client director.

Additionally, Scott Heslin and Rob Houston have become wealth managers. They were previously at Brewin Dolphin and Barclays Premier, respectively.

VG

The trust, corporate and fund administration firm has bolstered its private wealth team with two hires.

Wendy Inns joins as a director, subject to regulatory approval, from Jersey-based trust company Hawksford, where she served as a director for five years.

Katherine Heddercot will work alongside Inns as an assistant manager. She also joins from Hawksford, where she worked with Inns for five years.

State Street Global Advisors

The asset management arm of State Street has appointed Jermyn Wong as head of SPDR ETF Singapore.

He will be responsible for leading, managing and developing the SPDR ETF business in the region and across distribution channels.

Wong was previously at Nikko Asset Management Asia in Singapore, where he served as head of Asia ETF business development.

Neuberger Berman

Manuel Kalbreier has become managing director and head of alternative specialists of Emea at the investment firm.

He will be based in London.

Kalbreier was previously at Wellington Management, where he spent the last seven years as managing director and regional director for alternatives in Emea.
