US in the news: CI Financial buys California wealth firm

CI Financial

The Canadian firm has agreed to acquire Calfornia-based wealth manager Corient Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum.

Corient has 24 employees, who work primarily with entrepreneurs, executives, athletes, families and charitable foundations.

The transaction was supported by Merchant Investment Management, which has been an equity investor in Corient since 2020.

Stratos Wealth Partners

The registered investment adviser (RIA) firm has increased its minority equity stake in San Diego-based BWM Financial.

BWM Financial, founded by Jeff Brown, has been serving high net worth clients since 1996, and specialises in intentions-driven financial planning.

In 2021, the firm acquired wealth manager and Stratos-affiliated Truuwater Financial, also based in San Diego.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Integrity Marketing Group

The life, health and wealth solutions provider has acquired The Foschini Group, a retirement planning and RIA firm based in Connecticut.

As part of the acquisition, Al Foschini, president of The Foschini Group, will become a managing partner in Integrity.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

People moves

WSFS Financial

The parent company of Bryn Mawr Trust Wealth Management has named Stephanie Saint-Cyr as senior vice president, director of wealth advisory Services in Princeton, New Jersey.

She was most recently vice president, relationship manager at Wilmington Trust.

Rockefeller Capital Management

The financial advisory firm has hired the Greenwood Village-based Hablutzel Group, furthering its presence in Colorado.

Led by managing director Brent Hablutzel, the team includes:

  • Zachary Bond-Stefo, vice president and private wealth adviser;
  • Lori Caddey, associate vice president, senior client associate; and
  • Shayna Yallaly, registered client associate.

The four-member team joins from Merrill Lynch.

Raymond James

Financial adviser Jennifer Main has joined the firm.

Main, along with client service associates Auda Childs and Sean Coen, operates as Main Wealth Management of Raymond James.

They join from Edward Jones.
