The company’s LinkedIn job listing, states that the placements will be offered in various departments including:

  • The chief executive office;
  • Chief operating office;
  • Commercial and strategy;
  • Solution delivery;
  • Solution maintenance and control; and,
  • Sales.

As part of the Adviser Vector programme, graduates will also receive support to achieve formal qualifications.

“This programme is focused on delivering the improvements that our advisers have told us matter the most to them, and their clients, and will deliver the capability we were told would make a real difference to adviser businesses,” the firm said on LinkedIn.

“We look for organised people with customer service experience and an ability to work under pressure. Being able to confidently communicate and stakeholder manage will also be an advantage due to this programme working across a number of different areas.

“To support our graduates to get going quickly we provide an extensive induction giving you access to hear from senior professionals across the company, complete soft and technical skills training courses and get to know your cohort of graduates.

“Further to formal structured development programme and rotational opportunities, as a graduate you will be supported to work towards suitable formal qualifications.”

Financial services an ‘attractive’ career

Depending on its initial success, Abrdn has plans to increase the number of graduates it will take on in the future.

Kirsty Watson, chief operating officer of the Adviser Vector at Abrdn, and sponsor of the programme, said: “We are really excited to launch this first of its kind programme within the Adviser Vector. We are keen to attract a new pool of talent into the business, and, if successful, will look to expand in years to come.

“A career in financial services is becoming more attractive because of the diverse roles and opportunities available within the sector. We want to attract strong candidates with the potential to be future leaders of our adviser business, having built through our graduate scheme a great understanding of not only how our business operates but most importantly how Abrdn can help our adviser clients and advised customers to thrive. “
