US in the news: MAI Capital Management buys Maryland wealth firm

MAI Capital Management

The registered investment adviser (RIA) firm has acquired Investment Planning Associates (IPA).

The acquisition develops MAI’s presence in Rockville, Maryland and further enhances the firm’s depth of wealth management capabilities.

The firm’s founding partner, Jay Levin, will assume the role of senior wealth adviser and managing director, while Ari

Wiener will take on the role of wealth adviser and director at MAI.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Mather Group

The wealth management firm has acquired Nashville-based Eugenias Advisory Group (EAG) for an undisclosed sum.

The EAG team will continue to operate out of its office in Nashville.

People moves

Angeles Wealth Management (AWM)

Gary Cloudman has been named as managing director of the firm’s newly established Chicago office.

He joins Angeles after five years with Metropolitan Capital Bank & Trust, where he most recently held the title of senior wealth consulting manager, head of family office.

Wilmington Trust

The financial services provider has hired Jason Williams as head of national sales and client engagement for wealth management.

Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, he spent nearly two decades at Wells Fargo in the high net worth and brokerage businesses.

Wilmington Trust has also named Dolly Donnelly as a wealth strategist for its Emerald Family Office and Advisory Services division.

Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Donnelly practiced law with Boylan Code in Rochester, New York.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management

The firm has named Huma Mohiuddin as market president, Pittsburgh.

She joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management in 2015 and during her six years, has served as senior director wealth manager, team leader, and in regional director roles.

Prior to joining the firm, she was a vice president of investments at JP Morgan.
