Canada Life UK
The insurer has appointed Stuart Robinson as chief financial officer and David Germain as chief information officer.
Robinson joins from Aviva where since 2010, he has held senior roles in risk, compliance, change and finance and most recently as interim chief executive and managing director of Aviva Equity Release.
Germain joins from RSA where he was chief information officer, group, UK and international.
They will both join Canada Life in Spring 2022 following the respective retirements of Kathryn Bateman and David Bradley.
Lombard Odier
Jean-Pascal Porcherot will become managing partner of the Swiss wealth manager, effective 1 January 2022.
Within the partnership, he will be responsible for Lombard Odier Investment Managers (LOIM), the group’s asset management division, and will continue to run LOIM together with Nathalia Barazal.
He will remain based in Geneva.
Porcherot joined the group in 2009 and was primarily involved in the development of our alternative investment strategies within LOIM. He was appointed chief executive of its hedge fund business in 2015.
Phoenix Group
The UK long-term savings and retirement business has named Anna Franekova as corporate development director, effective 1 March 2022.
She will be responsible for driving and overseeing Phoenix Group’s corporate activity, including identifying and delivering growth opportunities through M&A.
Franekova joins from JPMorgan Chase where she was a managing director within the investment banking division.
TwentyFour Asset Management
The London and New York-based fixed income fund manager has appointed Ben Hayward to chief executive.
Hayward, a founding partner at TwentyFour, will replace Mark Holman, who has been the firm’s chief executive since its inception in 2008, and will relinquish his role in January 2022.
Holman will now spend 100% of his time on portfolio management as a member of the firm’s multi-sector bond team.
HSBC Asset Management (HSBC AM)
The company has created a division called ETF & Indexing, which brings together all of the firms’ passive funds, mandates and solutions under a single umbrella.
The operation will be co-driven by the firm’s investments and sales teams, and led by Thorsten Michalik, in addition to his responsibilities as global head of wholesale business and partnerships.
Current global head of ETF sales Olga De Tapia will take up an expanded role of global head of ETF and indexing sales while Guillaume Rabault, chief investment officer of quantitative equity, will oversee a dedicated ETF and indexing team within investments.
Rathbones
The wealth firm has confirmed Tom Carroll will become chief investment officer of its unit trust business replacing Julian Chillingworth when he exits next year.
Carroll co-founded Four Capital Partners in 2006, before it became Sanlam Investments, where he is now head of asset management.
When Chillingworth’s retirement was announced in July, Elizabeth Savage and Edward Smith became co-chief investment officers at Rathbone Investment Management.
Seccl
The Octopus-owned custodian and platform technology provider has strengthened its adviser services team with a trio of experienced industry professionals.
Hamish Warnock, former senior relationship manager at Raymond James, has joined as partner launch lead. He will support advisers and DFMs in the launch of their own platform using Seccl’s API-powered custody and investment technology.
Michelle Angell has joined as relationship manager lead from Standard Life Aberdeen (Abrdn), where she served as platform oversight manager.
Chris Hicks joins in January as client services lead. Most recently, he was head of new business and client operations at Sanlam UK.
James Hambro & Partners (JH&P)
The wealth manager has recruited investment manager Colin Orr to further strengthen its Scottish office.
Orr was most recent at Seven Investment Management, where he looked after investment portfolios for onshore and offshore private clients, trusts, corporates and charities.
Raymond James
The wealth manager has hired Edward Hagger as an investment manager at its Moorgate office.
He will be responsible for running his own book of clients and assisting his colleagues in growing the business.
Hagger joined JM Finn in March 2016 to manage portfolios for private clients, trusts, charities and self-invested personal pensions (Sipps).
Tilney Smith & Williamson
The wealth management and professional services group has appointed Neil Williams as head of business development for its authorised corporate director and fund administration business.
He joins Tilney Smith & Williamson from FNZ’s transfer agency business where he was a director.
