Lincoln Financial Group

The financial services firm has named Ellen Cooper as president and chief executive.

Cooper will succeed Dennis Glass after the annual meeting in May 2022.

She joined Lincoln in 2012.

EToro Group

The multi-asset investment platform has named Lule Demmissie as US chief executive.

Demmissie joins from Ally Invest, where she served as president and oversaw the Ally Invest Securities, Ally Invest Advisors and API operations.

Insigneo

The Miami-based advice firm has hired financial adviser Roberto Pena.

Pena joins Insigneo Financial Group as senior financial consultant and vice president.

He previously worked at HSBC Securities.

First Republic Bank

The private bank has hired Ashley Evans as managing director and wealth manager at First Republic Investment Management in San Francisco.

Before joining First Republic, she was a senior vice president and wealth management adviser at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

UBS Private Wealth Management

The wealth manager has hired Ron Pillar as a financial adviser in South Florida.

He will join Integra Partners, a local team led by advisers Brian Beraha, Vicente del Rio and Horacio Aguirre.

Pillar was most recently at Pillar Capital Advisors, an independent M&A and capital-raising advisory firm, that he founded in 2014.

Raymond James

The financial services firm has hired financial adviser Russell Riggan to its offices in Snyder, Texas.

He joins Raymond James from Edward Jones, alongside Kali Pinson, client services director, and Rachel Rodriguez, client concierge.

Together the team operates as Talent Financial Services.

M&A

EP Wealth Advisors

The independent registered investment adviser (RIA) firm has acquired Homewood Capital Management.

Founded in 1994 by William Wee, Homewood provides financial planning services to high net worth individuals and families.

The entire Homewood team will join EP Wealth. Wee will assume the role of senior wealth adviser at EP Wealth and Andrea Grumley and Noel Cheney will each assume the position of client relationship associate.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Beacon Pointe Advisors

The firm has acquired Seattle-based Rainier Financial Group for an undisclosed sum.

The team of four at Rainier joining Beacon Pointe includes Grant Hartvigson as a partner and managing director, James Simone and Kimberly Arnesen as senior wealth advisers, and Lauren Reisenauer as a client service associate.

Focus Financial Partners

The wealth management partnership firm has bought Cleveland-based Ancora Holdings and its subsidiaries for an undisclosed sum.

The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021, subject to customary closing conditions.

Ancora is employee-owned and managed by a seven-person executive team led by chief executive and chairman Fred DiSanto.

Allworth Financial

The RIA firm has acquired Novak Financial Planning (NFP) of Bel Air, Maryland.

Founded in 1987 by husband-and-wife team Dan and Carol Novak, NFP specialises in providing retirement planning and investment management advice.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

XML Financial Group

The independent wealth and investment management firm has completed its merger with Collins Investment Group (CIG), a wealth management practice in Bethesda, Maryland.

Founded in 2008 by Robert Collins, CIG provides wealth and investment management services to clients across the US.

Effective 1 September 2021, CIG operates as a division of XML Financial Group.

For XML, the merger adds eight employees, bringing the firm’s current total to 40.
