US in the news: Wealth Enhancement Group buys Maryland firm

Wealth Enhancement Group

The independent wealth management firm has acquired Maryland-based Serafini Financial Group.

The transaction is Wealth Enhancement Group’s ninth acquisition in 2021.

Founded by Andrew Serafini in 1990, Serafini Financial Group further bolsters Wealth Enhancement Group’s presence in the mid-Atlantic states.

Serafini will practice under the Wealth Enhancement Group brand, serving clients as senior vice president, financial adviser within the firm.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Merit Financial Advisors

The Georgia-based financial advisory firm has acquired Consilium Financial Group.

Consilium is a comprehensive financial planning and wealth management firm based in Roswell, Georgia.

Founded by Kirk Wilkerson and Andy Lubben, the firm provides risk management, tax planning, estate planning and investment services for high net worth individuals and families.

The entire Consilium staff will join Merit, with Wilkerson and Lubben each assuming the role of regional director.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

People moves

BNY Mellon Wealth Management

Daniel Gebhart has been named as regional director, head of portfolio management in New England.

He joined BNY Mellon Wealth Management in 2000 at the firm’s Pittsburgh office where he held a variety of roles. This included senior wealth manager, before relocating to Boston in 2010 for his most recent position as senior director of portfolio management in New England.

Monument Wealth Management

The wealth manger has named Emily Harper and Jessica Gibbs as partners.

Gibbs started her career at Monument in April 2015 as a financial planning associate and was later promoted to director of private wealth design in 2019. Harper joined as a private wealth adviser in September 2017.

Raymond James

Financial advisers Christopher Beavers, Matthew Beavers, Emma Beavers, Hannah Peterson and Ryan Finglass have joined the wealth firm.

The team has opened an office in West Fort Worth, within Raymond James’ north Texas-Arkansas complex.

Operating as Beavers Wealth Management of Raymond James, the group joins from Merrill Lynch.

Elsewhere, Raymond James has hired financial advisers Jeff Anderson and Doug McClure, CFP®, in Bothell, Washington.

They join from Wells Fargo Advisors. Together they operate as Legacy Wealth Partners and are affiliated with Mainspring Wealth Advisors, an existing Raymond James adviser group.

Joining the advisers at Raymond James are Sarah Hand and Monica Rock-Lorimor, account executives at Legacy Wealth Partners and senior registered client service associates.
