Group CIO leaves insurer, while investment manager makes c-suite change

Zurich

Group chief investment officer Urban Angehrn has resigned.

He had been in the role since July 2015.

Angehrn will become chief executive of the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (Finma).

Morningstar IM

Dan Kemp has been promoted to global chief investment officer of the firm’s investment management group.

He will replace Daniel Needham, who will take on the role of president of the investment management group.

Kemp joined Morningstar IM Europe in 2014 as co-head of investment consulting and portfolio management Emea, and was then promoted to chief investment officer Emea in 2015, and will keep these responsibilities while a replacement is found.

Prudential

Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad hired Lim Eng Seong as chief executive of its life business.

He will succeed Gan Leong Hin, who held the top job for the last six years.

Seong joins from HSBC Malaysia, where he worked as deputy chief executive.

LGT Capital Partners

The alternative investment specialist has promoted Mark Miller to head of UK operation.

He succeeds Mark White, former chief executive of the UK arm, who will continue working with the firm on an advisory basis.

Miller joined the firm in June 2020 as head of UK business development from Federated Hermes International, where he served as head of global client group.

HSBC AM

The asset manager has expanded its responsible investments team with two senior hires.

Erin Leonard has been promoted to global head of sustainability in the newly created sustainability office. She previously was interim global head of institutional business as well as leading the firm’s responsible investment initiative.

Stuart Kirk, current global head of research and insight, will become head of responsible investment. He will succeed Melissa McDonald, who decided to take her career outside the asset management industry and will be leaving at the end of August.

Gresham House

The specialist alternative asset manager has recruited Chris Elliot as head of wholesale retail funds to strengthen its reach among UK discretionary and advisory investors.

He joins from LGBR Capital, where he spent the last seven years as head of strategic partnerships.

City & Capital Group

The West Yorkshire-headquartered adviser consultancy firm has appointed Brian hill as head of acquisitions and succession planning.

He sold his IFA firm, Jones Hill, to Perspective Financial Group in September 2020.

Succession Wealth

Financial planner Drew Nutsford has left the advice group after nearly six years at the firm.

In a LinkedIn post, he said he will join “one of the leading financial planning businesses in Scotland”.

James Hambro & Partners

Robert Seifert has become a portfolio manager at the investment firm.

He spent the last 10 years as a senior investment director at Brooks Macdonald.
