Kingswood

Derek Bruton, chief executive of the wealth firm’s US arm, has stepped down from the role, Kingswood confirmed to International Adviser.

He will remain as a strategic adviser with the wealth manager until June.

The firm did not state who will be replacing Bruton in the role.

Captrust Financial Advisors

The firm has promoted Eddie Welch to managing principal for the wealth management group.

Welch joined Captrust in 2020 from Welch Hornsby, the firm he co-founded in 1988.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management

The wealth firm has appointed John Ippolito as regional president of the Tri-State region.

He joins after 26 years at Northern Trust, where most recently he headed a greater New York team.

Golden State

The investment firm has hired Todd Schneider of Schneider Wealth Management.

He will operate in Southlake, Texas.

First Republic Bank

Dominique Jordan and Isaac Richard III have joined First Republic Investment Management as vice presidents and wealth managers in Los Angeles.

Jordan was an associate vice president, regional training officer, and financial adviser at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

Richard was a financial adviser at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

The Coury Firm

The multi-family office has named Clayton Deutsch to its board of advisers.

Deutsch was most recently chief executive and president of Boston Private, a US wealth management and private banking firm.

Alex Brown

The division of Raymond James has hired five client advisers in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Washington, DC.

Florida-based Christopher Murrle-Philippsen joins from Wells Fargo and Jose de la Lama from Merrill Lynch

Georgia-based Lee Haverstock joins from Morgan Stanley, while North Carolina-based William Taylor joins from Merrill Lynch and Washington, DC-based Mark Murphy from Janney Montgomery Scott.

Raymond James

The wealth firm has made a number of hires across the US.

The advisers join existing practice Crux Wealth Advisors (CWA), a Long Beach, California-based group.

JoAnn Favia, a partner of CWA, joins from Kestra Investment Services. She serves as president of her own independent practice, The Favia Group, since 2002. Also joining are Julia Perez, relationship manager, and Dan Carthew, retirement plan associate.

Jonathan Plail, president and chief executive of Buffalo, New York-based Plail Wealth Management. He joins from Merrill Lynch alongside Carolyn Daigler, relationship manager, and Matthew Francis, client services manager.

Wealth advisers Anthony Pandolfi and Andrew Durfee join from UBS Financial Services.

Tony Cirocco and Jared Smith, located in Buffalo, New York, join the firm from Key Investment Services.

M&A

MAI Capital Management

The independent registered investment adviser (RIA) firm has acquired the wealth management business of Ownership Advisors.

OAI is based in Cleveland and provides financial planning and wealth management services for high net worth individuals and families.

Mark Van Drunen, OAI president, will assume the role of managing director at MAI.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
