The Mather Group

The wealth management firm has acquired Chicago-based Trinity Financial Advisors (TFA).

This deal marks The Mather Group’s eighth acquisition in a little more than two years.

TFA has provided financial planning services for Chicago’s working and retired business executives, healthcare professionals, attorneys and entrepreneurs since 2000.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

People moves

Spearhead

The wealth management and administration solutions provider has named Alyson Kest as chief compliance officer and deputy general counsel.

Kest has more than 15 years of legal and compliance experience within the financial services industry. Most recently, she was the chief compliance officer and counsel for WBI Investments and its affiliates Millington Securities and Hartshorne Group.

UBS Wealth Management USA

The wealth manager has hired the Truscott Wealth Management Group in Houston, Texas.
Brian Truscott, Amy McMillen Jay, Lindsay Arvin, and Victoria Browning will be located in the Clear Lake office.

Also, UBS Wealth Management USA has hired Spencer Cox as a financial adviser within the Alpha Wealth Consulting Group in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Cox most recently working at Morgan Stanley.

People’s United Advisors (PUA)

The registered investment adviser (RIA) firm of People’s United Bank has named Tom Ehrhardt as senior vice president and head of private banking.

Ehrhardt joins from Oaknorth US, where he was head of credit.

Cerity Partners

The independent financial advisory firm has brought wealth manager Bainco International Investors into the group.

Bainco was founded by Sam Bain in 1987 and offers investment and wealth management services to high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management

The wealth manager has hired Kevin May as senior client strategist in Newport Beach, California.

He joins BNY Mellon Wealth Management from Bessemer Trust, where he served as a vice president.

Raymond James

The firm has hired financial advisers Michael Topinka, Carl Boomhower and Daniel Tyburski to its offices in New Jersey.

They operate as Topinka Financial and join from Merrill Lynch.

Joining them at Raymond James is Kaitlyn Blaise, director of client services for Topinka Financial and Raymond James Financial Services client service associate.

US Bank

Scott Ford has joined as president of wealth management affluent.

He joins from JP Morgan Chase, where he served as a regional director of wealth management in New York.
