US in the news: BNY Mellon WM names global family office head

BNY Mellon Wealth Management

The wealth firm has appointed Vincent Hayes as head of the global family office segment.

He joins BNY Mellon from the Family Office Exchange, where he served as managing director.

Bluebird Wealth Management

The independent investment adviser based in eastern Massachusetts has named Keith Corbett as vice president and financial adviser.

He has over ten years of experience at two asset management firms in the US – Fidelity Investments and Fisher Investments.

UBS Private Wealth Management

Christopher Pitzak has joined the firm as a managing director and financial adviser in the La Jolla, California office.

He joins UBS following a 13-year career at Bernstein Private Wealth Management.

IQ-EQ

The global investor services group has appointed Wendy Piergolam as its head of client development for the US, a newly created role.

She joins from Vistra, where she was head of the New York office, responsible for the local operations and North American business development.

M&A

Wealth Enhancement Group

The wealth firm will acquire Wisconsin-headquartered SVA Financial Group, the wealth management and trust services entities of the SVA Companies.

SVA Financial Group has 22 financial advisers that collectively oversee $3.2bn (£2.42bn, €2.64bn) in client assets.

The deal is set to close on 31 December 2020, however, the acquisition of SVA Trust Company, a company within SVA Financial Group, will officially close in Q1 2021, subject to regulatory approval.

The acquisition of SVA Financial Group does not affect the SVA Companies’ other business affiliates.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
