US in the news: HSBC Bank USA names head of wealth

HSBC Bank USA

Mark Pittsey has been named as head of wealth for the bank, effective immediately.

Pittsey joined HSBC in 2010 and most recently served as managing director and market head for the central and western regions.

He began his career with Wells Fargo Private Bank in 1992 and later joined Deutsche Bank Private Bank in 2007 as a regional manager for the Bay Area region.

JP Morgan

The bank has named Boaz Lahovitsky as head of US national branch for wealth management.

He joins from Vanguard, where he most recently was head of flagship advice, personal adviser services.

Greycourt & Co

The adviser to ultra-high net worth families and family offices has promoted Matthew Litwin to president.

He was previously managing director.

Raymond James

The wealth firm has hired financial advisers Jared Stricklin, Darryl Dunn and Robert Meeder to its offices in Overland Park, Kansas.

The team, which includes financial planning consultants Alin Frentzen and Lucas Harris and senior registered sales associates Deborah Doss and Wendy Jennings, comes to Raymond James from UBS.

It operates as MDS Advisors of Raymond James.

Raymond James has also hired John Cleary and Renee Rossi to its offices in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Cleary and Rossi join Raymond James from Merrill Lynch and the team operates as The Cleary Group of Raymond James.

Loeb & Loeb

The law firm has appointed Matthew McKim as a partner in the trusts and estates department in the firm’s Chicago office.

McKim advises clients on a wide range of US tax planning matters, with a particular emphasis on income tax structuring for inbound US investments.

His clients include high net worth global families, international trust companies and non-US citizens with US contacts.

RBC Wealth Management

The wealth firm has hired a team to join its Boca Raton office.

Joining RBC Wealth Management is the Glasband Stempel Wealth Management Group, which includes the following:

  • Eric Glasband, managing director and financial adviser;
  • Jonathan Stempel, senior vice president and financial adviser;
  • Justin Hanlon, senior vice president and financial adviser;
  • Matthew Kutner, first vice president and financial adviser;
  • Ryan Burke, financial adviser.

M&A

Creative Planning

The registered investment adviser (RIA) firm has acquired Georgia-based TrueWealth,

TrueWealth has approximately $1.6bn (£1.2bn, €1.35bn) assets under management.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Wealth Enhancement Group

The independent wealth management firm has bought CJM Wealth Management, a hybrid RIA firm based in Deer Park, New York.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

CJM Wealth Management has six employees, including two financial advisers, chief executive and founder Charles Massimo and managing director Peter Anastasian.

It is Wealth Enhancement Group’s 33rd office across the US.
