US in the news: Hightower completes fifth acquisition of 2020

Hightower

The wealth firm has made a strategic investment in Teak Tree Capital Management, an advisory business in Fort Worth, Texas.

Founded in 2009, Teak Tree has seven employees, including three advisers, serving entrepreneurs, business professionals, and multi-generational families.

Teak Tree will maintain its own brand and the firm is Hightower’s fifth transaction in 2020.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Creative Planning

The registered investment adviser firm has acquired Ohio-based Lenox Wealth Management.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

People moves

RBC Wealth Management

The wealth firm has hired a four-person adviser team with almost 100 years of combined experience in Beverly Hills.

The team specialises in advice, complex planning, and asset and liability management for high net worth families, including professional athletes, entertainers, technology entrepreneurs and business owners.

Joining RBC are the following advisers:

  • Mike Ladge, managing director – financial adviser;
  • Shon Saleh, senior vice president – financial adviser;
  • Joseph Sulentor, first vice president – financial adviser;
  • Brandon Allen, first vice president – financial adviser.

Fiduciary Trust International

The global wealth manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton has named Cathy Carilli as senior portfolio manager.

Carilli joins from US Trust, Bank of America Wealth Management, where she worked for 24 years, most recently as managing director and senior portfolio manager.

GCW Global Customised Wealth

The global investment management firm has named Adam Domat as a partner.

Domat will focus on investment sourcing and diligence, as well as contributing to the ongoing enhancement of GCW’s portfolio construction modelling.

He is based in Palo Alto, California.

Prior to joining GCW, Domat worked at Jasper Ridge Partners.

Raymond James

The wealth firm has hired financial adviser Steve Gross in Briarcliff Manor, New York.

Gross joins from Ameriprise.

He is joined by senior client service associate Luigi Muccitelli and registered client associate Rebecca Denham.

The team joins RJFS’ Boston Harbor Wealth Advisors.

First Republic Bank

The bank has hired Phil Scott as a managing director and wealth manager at First Republic Investment Management.

Before joining First Republic, Scott was a managing director at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.
