US in the news: Cresset names chief operating officer

People moves

Cresset Asset Management

The registered investment adviser (RIA) firm has named Randall Conte as chief operating officer.

Prior to Cresset, Conte was president of Parkway Bank and Trust and Parkway Bancorp.

Sanctuary Wealth

The wealth firm has hired Susan Graybeal as director of international wealth management.

This comes as the firm looks to expand its offering for advisers who work primarily with non-US clients.

Graybeal spent more than 30 years with Merrill Lynch, where she was international supervision manager.

Raymond James

The firm has hired financial advisers Chris Williams, Robb Farr, Brad Wittusen, Jeffrey Smith, Roger Thornton and Kelly Holtman in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The advisers, along with Jana Berry, office manager and client services associate, and Kristin Craddock, client service associate, operate as Uinta Wealth Management (UWM).

The team joins Raymond James from Wells Fargo Financial Network.

Wilmington Trust

Merryll McElwain joins as senior wealth adviser in Los Angeles.

Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, McElwain worked as a senior client strategist for BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

First Republic Bank

The private bank and wealth management company has named Adam Zipper, Joseph Duarte, Christopher Gates, John Mulligan and Andrew Damato as managing directors and wealth managers.

Andrew Gallagher has also joined as vice president and wealth manager.

They all join from JP Morgan Securities.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management

The firm has hired Julie Alcala as senior wealth strategist.

Alcala previously spent 10 years at William Blair as director of wealth planning.

UBS

The Swiss private bank has named Jennifer Lucovich as a financial adviser, senior vice president of wealth management in its Scottsdale, Arizona branch.

Jerrod Logan has also joined the firm as a senior wealth strategy associate in the Scottsdale Arizona branch.

UBS has also promoted Karmen Keup as executive director and branch manager of the Sarasota, Fort Myers, and Bonita Springs branch offices within UBS Wealth Management USA.

With 20 years of wealth management experience at UBS, Karmen served previously as executive director and assistant market head for UBS Private Wealth Management in Long Island, New Jersey, Stamford, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC.

First Bank & Trust Company

James Hotchkiss has joined First Trust and Wealth Management, a division of First Bank & Trust Company.

Hotchkiss will assist First Bank & Trust Company clients in Augusta and Rockingham counties with asset management, financial planning and trust and estate administration.

He has been providing wealth management services to his clients for 18 years.

Round Table Wealth Management

The global wealth and investment management firm has hired Kimberly Sharp as managing director and head of wealth services.

In her previous role, Sharp was the president of a business coaching and consulting firm.

WSFS Bank

Salvatore Patti has joined as senior vice president, director of commercial banking and wealth client management of greater Philadelphia.

Most recently, he served as regional managing director at PNC Wealth Management.

M&A

CI Financial Corp

The Canadian firm has agreed to acquire full ownership of Illnois-based wealth manager Balasa Dinverno Foltz (BDF).

Following the close of the deal, Chad Carlson, who is currently wealth manager and director of research at BDF, will be named president and co-chief investment officer.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

EP Wealth Advisors

The independent RIA firm has acquired Providus Advisors.

This is EP Wealth’s second Phoenix-area acquisition in the last 12 months.

Mike McGinley and James Dwyer, who served as founding partners of Providus, will each assume the roles of vice president and partner at EP Wealth.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
