While tech firm waives licence fee to access its digital tools during covid-19

Premier Miton Investments has rolled out an online portal for financial advisers, which will allow them to hold and manage their clients’ investments in a range of its funds.

The platform is called Connect and is free to access, the fund management firm said.

For the time being, advisers will be able to access funds through general investment accounts and Isas, but Premier Miton said it is working on making it accessible to pensions and bonds in the future.

The portal gives access to Premier funds, including 16 multi-asset ones covering income, conservative growth, absolute return, balanced and growth investment goals.

Since Premier Asset Management Group and Miton Group merged in November 2019, Miton funds will be added to Connect as well.

The service is powered by platform provider FNZ.

Digital helping hand

To help financial advisers cope with the outbreak of covid-19, wealth management software provider Objectway has waived its licence fees for a limited period to any new subscriber to its digital offering.

This comes hand-in-hand with a fast-track service, which provides a cloud-based and ready -to-use deployment model to help wealth management firms roll out digital products as quickly as possible.

Firms will be able to develop:

  • Remote client communication tools with secure chats, video meetings and screen sharing features;
  • Multi-device access to investments, market research and news through portals and mobile apps; and,
  • A CRM model offering alerts and notifications delivered to both advisers and investors about various investments events.

Alberto Cuccu, chief executive of UK and Belgium at Objectway, said: ““We are aware that this emergency will strain the available budgets of all companies in our market. So, it’s time for us to help our customers to start or complete their digital transformation now.”
