PEOPLE MOVES: Old Mutual, Blackfinch Group, Chase de Vere

Executive leadership changes at insurer, and former Utmost sales head joins investment manager

Old Mutual

Kerrin Land has been promoted to managing director of South Africa’s Old Mutual Personal Finance, after her predecessor, Karabo Morule, stepped down in October 2019.

She has been with Old Mutual since 1995, holding several senior positions, most recently as managing director of Old Mutual Wealth.

Farhad Sader will succeed Land at OMW.

He started his career at the firm in 2004 and was most recently chief operating officer for the company’s wealth business.

Blackfinch

Simon Woolnough has been named head of distribution (tax) at investment management firm Blackfinch Group.

He was sales director at cash deposit company Flagstone between 2018 and 2020, and prior to that he was head of sales, proposition and marketing at Utmost Wealth Solutions.

Chase de Vere

The firm has expanded its medical advice teams in the north of England with two hires.

James Knibb and James Delaney will work from Chase de Vere’s Leeds and Sheffield offices, respectively, and provide financial advice to medical practitioners.

Knibb was previously a private banking relationship manager at Lloyds Bank, while Delaney joins from HSBC where he served as a financial adviser.

The International Stock Exchange (Tise)

Tise chief executive Fiona Le Poidevin is stepping down after five years in the top job.

She is looking to take on a non-executive directorship.

Le Poidevin will continue in the role while the Guernsey-based stock exchange looks for her successor.

Fund Channel

Luxembourg B2B fund distribution platform Fund Channel has promoted Pierre-Adrien Domon to chief executive.

He has been with the company since 2009 and helped open and run its Swiss subsidiary before relocating to Luxembourg in 2012 to run the business development and commercial sides of the business.

Domon replaces Richard Lepere, who left the top job at the end of December 2019.

Credit Suisse

The Swiss firm’s board of directors has nominated Richard Meddings to the board at Credit Suisse.

An announcement will be made at its annual general meeting on 30 April 2020.

He is currently chairman of UK-based bank TSB and is a non-executive director and chair of the audit committee of HM Treasury.

Just Group

Michelle Cracknell joins the UK retirement income specialist as a non-executive director.

She will take on the role on 1 March 2020.

Cracknell was previously chief executive of The Pensions Advisory Service.

Kristal AI

Digital wealth management provider Kristal AI has recruited Swapnil Mishra as head of private wealth management.

He has been managing director of Deutsche Bank Singapore since December 2017.

Eaton Vance

The UK-based wealth management firm has appointed Henrik Hoffman-Fischer as business development director for the Nordics.

He will be responsible for overseeing existing client relationships and developing the business in the region.

Hoffman-Fischer joins from Union Bancaire Privee (UBP) where he was head of sales, Nordics.
