|

Brooks Macdonald

The firm has appointed Greg Mullins to the newly-created role of head of adviser solutions.

He will lead the firm’s outsourced investment management offering for IFAs, reporting in to chief commercial officer Robin Eggar.

Mullins joins Brooks Macdonald following more than a decade with Rathbones where he was head of sales, responsible for the distribution team.

Prior to this, he was head of IFA sales with M&G Investments. He has over 35 years of experience in financial services in total.

7IM

The wealth manager has hired Matteo Ruozzo as senior quantitative investment strategist.

He joins the investment management team and will report into Matthew Yeates, deputy chief investment officer.

Prior to joining 7IM, Matteo worked at BlackRock for eight years, where most recently he was a quantitative researcher and portfolio manager in the multi-asset model portfolios team.

Binary Capital

The firm has hired Sarb Thind as head of sales (UK).

He joins from PortfolioMetrix and will lead the firm’s push into the IFA space and partnership model portfolio marketplace.

His earlier roles include being MPS sales manager at Invesco.

Allianz Global Investors

Portfolio managers Joe Pak, Ravin Seeneevassen, and Jack Norris are set to leave the company, following the exit of fund manager Mike Riddell earlier this year.

Riddell announced his departure from AllianzGI in May, moving to Fidelity in August. His strategies, which included the £924m Allianz Strategic Bond fund, were taken over by the global markets team, headed up by CIO Julian Le Beron.

He had been with AllianzGI for eight years. Pak and Seeneevassen joined the team in 2021, while Norris joined in 2016.

SVM

Hugh Cuthbert departed in March after 18 years at the firm. The SVM Continental Europe fund manager – who joined from Kempen Capital Management in 2006 – left to little fanfare and was swiftly replaced by James Sym.

His £33.1m portfolio was up 81.2% over the five years to the end of March when he left, outshining the average IA Europe ex UK portfolio by 23.6 percentage points.

Capital Group

The firm has appointed Álvaro Peró Gala as a fixed income investment director.

Peró Gala will join the firm’s investment specialist team, which is responsible for bringing Capital Group’s fixed income offering to retail and institutional clients across Europe.

He joins from Pimco, where he served as vice president and played a role in the firm’s Iberia distribution team.
