The trust service provider intends to leverage its eGaming expertise and develop SMP Partners’ “rapidly growing gaming division” and “build up a significant presence in that market”.

Mark Denton, managing director of SMP Partners, said: “Establishing an office in Jersey is another significant development for the group, as we continue to grow our presence in key jurisdictions around the world.

“Jersey, like the Isle of Man, is a highly regarded financial centre and the opening of an office there has been in our sights for some time. The expansion will help us to further diversify our business and revenues, as well as creating additional career opportunities for our colleagues.”

Katy Stopford will relocate from the gaming division of SMP Partners’ Isle of Man office to Jersey to lead the establishment of the new office and manage key relationships.

Stopford said: ‘Expansion into the Channel Islands is a great opportunity for SMP Partners and its clients. It is an exciting time for the business.”
