IAM Advisory reappoints CIO

Independent investment advisory firm IAM Advisory has reappointed its old chief investment officer after a seven year break from the role.

David Smith returns to the company after serving as its chief investment officer from 2002 to 2008, and will also act as the chairman of its investment committee.

Based in Guernsey, Smith will lead the investment team which provides strategic direction and provide advice to the company’s various investment portfolios.

He was also be closely involved with client management and business development across the company’s offices in London, Guernsey and Jersey.

Smith has 27 years of experience in investment management

On the appointment, managing director Michael Strachan said: “[Smith’s] appointment supports IAM Advisory’s growth across its three offices and reflects the global demand for completely independent investment advice.”

IAM provides advice to a range of client types such as high net worth private individuals, family offices, trusts, endowments, professional intermediaries, captive insurers and pension funds to government reserve funds & central banks.
