Henderson confirmed Tothill had left, but was unable to confirm the circumstances around his departure and whether or not they would be looking for a direct replacement. Tothill meanwhile, said he is currently in discussions with a number of parties.

Tothill joined Henderson as part of the company’s acquisition of New Star in 2009 where he had been associate director of international life companies.

Reporting to Simon Hillenbrand, head of UK retail, Tothill was assisted in his role by James Rushmere, global partnerships manager who remains at the firm.
