KPMG

KPMG has appointed Ed Renton to its Tax Investigations team as a senior manager.

Renton joins from HMRC’s Fraud Investigation Service where he delivered on “some of the department’s most serious and complex cases”.

With a focus on offshore issues, Renton’s experience ranges from technical corporate residency and permanent establishment matters through to offshore evasion by individuals.

He led on HMRC’s cross directorate response to the Panama and Paradise Papers data leaks and worked closely with the taxman’s offshore policy teams.

“Ed’s insight into HMRC thinking, his extensive knowledge of HMRC’s disclosure opportunities and pragmatic professional approach will no doubt make him a valuable addition to our team,” commented Derek Scott, Private Client Tax Disputes and Investigations team lead, in a note seen by International Adviser.

Investors Trust

Investors Trust has appointed James Savastano as senior sales manager Emea.

Dubai-based Savastano joins from RL360° where he developed accounts in Emea and Asia.

Carrick Investment Services

Carrick Investment Services has appointed Marc Fancy to the post of sales director, Mauritius.

Fancy has held numerous senior positions in the high net worth (HNW) private client and corporate space across three continents over the last 20 years. He joins from deVere where he was most recently area manager and senior wealth adviser in Johannesburg.

Nedbank

Nedbank Private Wealth has appointed Stuart Cummins to replace retiring managing director and executive head, Greg Horton.

Cummins joins from C Hoare & Co following its integration with Cazenove Capital. Horton retires after 23 years in the role.

Bank of Singapore

Bank of Singapore, the private bank of OCBC Bank, has appointed Anthony Simcic as managing director of its international team.

Simcic will join the Bank of Singapore on 12 March and report directly to Olivier Denis, global market head for Singapore, Malaysia and international.

Simcic was previously managing director and head of private banking with HSBC Private Bank in Luxembourg.

Kas Bank

Kas Bank, a provider of securities services to the UK pension industry, has expanded its business development team with the appointment of James Parish as senior business development manager.

Most recently, Parish was Emea global custody product manager at JP Morgan, focusing on the UK pension and insurance sectors through securing new business projects, improving existing and new client retention rates and identifying product gaps in the market.

In his new role at Kas Bank, he will be tasked with growing their specialist UK pension fund business.

Stanhope Capital

Stanhope Capital has appointed Alex Kershaw as partner within its portfolio management team.

He joins Stanhope Capital after 15 years with institutional investment adviser Cambridge Associates where he was formerly head of the London office and head of the Middle East and Africa practice. His clients included sovereign wealth funds, central banks, development funds and other large governmental investors, as well as families.

Citi Bank

Citi Private Bank in Zurich has named Thomas Schlaus as team leader covering family offices.

Temple Grange Partners

Temple Grange Partners, a risk, regulatory and compliance consultancy firm founded by Eoin O’Shea, former global head of compliance at Credit Suisse, has established a global advisory board.

Mark Humphries is joining as its first member to “push into new verticals, with a focus on asset management in particular”.

Humpries appointment will also help Temple Grange advise clients on Brexit with regards to passporting and changes of jurisdiction and practical implications of migrating to new locations, the firm said.
