Lombard Odier Investment Managers
Lombard Odier IM has appointed Martin Thommen as head of third-party distribution for Europe, effective from 1 June 2017. He will be based in Zurich and, in this newly created role, he will report to Carolina Minio-Paluello, global head of sales and solutions.
Thommen joins from UBS Asset Management where he was head of wealth management and personal banking distribution Switzerland. He spent over 30 years at UBS where he held a variety of management positions, including third-party distribution for UBS AM.
Neuberger Berman
Neuberger Berman appointed Patrick Liu as the head of China and general manager of its new Shanghai office. The New York-based fund house received regulatory approval to open an investment management wholly foreign-owned enterprise in China’s financial capital last year.
Liu joins from HFT Investment Management, a joint-venture of BNP Paribas Investment Partners and Haitong Securities, having previously worked at Deutsche Asset Management and Invesco Greatwall Fund Management.
Livingbridge
Mid-market private equity firm Livingbridge has appointed Adam Hughes as sales director of its public market equity funds business.
Hughes is the former head of UK wholesale distribution at Neptune Investment Management, where he worked for 10 years before becoming managing director at Fharlie Advisers, a venture established to acquire and consolidate independent financial advisory businesses.
He has more than 20 years of experience in financial services and has worked extensively across the UK intermediary space.
