International adviser Guardian Wealth Management is to launch an initiative to add to its women-only advice division.
Guardian is aiming to fill 40% of senior roles with women by 2020.
Commenting on the initiative, Gavin Pluck, Guardian managing director, said: “I think we could achieve that target.
“The offshore advice industry is well known for being a male dominated sector and, this year, Guardian Wealth Management is committed to bucking this trend by hiring more women for adviser and management roles.
“Having identified a lack of tailored financial advice suited to the requirements of women, we formed a female-only team in 2016 that offers advice specifically for women.
“Although this division has grown significantly, qualified female advisers only represent a small percentage of our adviser network and we are extremely keen to expand this area of the business.”
According to Pluck, many wealthy women prefer to be advised by other women and the industry is missing a growth opportunity as well as missing an opportunity to hire talented advisers.
“If we want to focus on that advice group, we need female advisers,” added Pluck.
