Wells Fargo
Wells Fargo has nabbed staff from Schroders and BlackRock to expand its multi-asset portfolios team.
Dan Morris, formerly head of US portfolio solutions at Schroders, has joined Wells Fargo as global head of portfolio solutions in the multi-asset team.
Martijn De Vree and Frank Cooke have also joined the firm, De Vree from Insight Investment and Cooke from Mercer.
Jonathon Hobbs joined the firm from BlackRock in July and works with the team on building retirement income strategies, wealth preservation and downside risk protection.
PwC
Fiona Carpenter has been appointed by PwC as an asset management tax partner in its UK financial services tax practice.
Carpenter has 20 years experience helping alternative managers and funds with tax structuring and compliance. She will lead PwC’s alternative asset management practice throughout Emea.
Carpenter was at EY before taking up the new position. Prior to this, she was chief financial officer for TT International, a boutique asset manager.
LJ Partnership
LJ Partnership, the London-headquartered private wealth partnership, has appointed a managing director and made two senior hires.
Mark Veale has been promoted to managing director for the company’s Isle of Man trust and administration team.
He was previously director and head of client services for the Isle of Man team, having held the position for 18 months.
Prior to joining LJ Partnership, Veale was head of trust operation for Isle of Man firm Kreston.
Additionally, Adam Greenwood and Sophia Birchall have been hired in two new roles for the Isle of Man operation. Greenwood has been appointed as finance director while Birchall will be head of compliance.
Both roles will be predominantly Isle of Man-based but will also provide operational and financial support to the other offices within the Trust and Administration division, the firm said.
