Tilney Group appointed a new chief executive, family office Wren names a director from Sandaire and Sun Life has lost its executive chair to be Canadian ambassador to France.

Tilney Group

Tilney Group has appointed Chris Woodhouse as chief executive following the resignation of Peter Hall.

Woodhouse joins from his most recent role at UK motoring and financial services group RAC where he was chief executive for five years.

He has also held senior roles at Debenhams and Homebase, rising to deputy chief executive at both firms.

Woodhouse will succeed Hall who is stepping down after seven years in the role. Hall will advise Permira, the private equity owner of Tilney, on further acquisitions.

Wren Investment Office

Wren Investment Office has appointed Edward Tollemache as client relationship director. The multi family office, was launched only a year ago and is backed and part-owned by MdF Family Partners in Spain (MdF) and WE Family Offices in the USA (WE).

Tollemache joins from Sandaire Investment Office where he was a client relationship director.

Wren’s offering to individuals and families extends also to substantial endowment funds and charities, all of which require long-term and multi-generational investment advice and management with top quality client servicing.

The firm moved to new enlarged premises in Buckingham Palace Road in June this year to accommodate early expansion of its operations.

Tollemache is the sixth colleague to have joined Wren from the previous team which had worked together at Lord North Street before it was acquired by Sandaire three years ago.

Sun Life Financial

Sun Life Financial’s Isabelle Hudon, executive chair, Sun Life Financial Quebec and Senior Vice-President, Client Solutions is to become the Canadian Ambassador to France.

Hudon joined Sun Life in August 2010 as SLF Quebec President, a role she held until 2015. Robert Dumas, who succeeded Hudon as President in 2015 and will assume the role of executive chair, SLF Quebec.

More recently, Hudon has been the senior vice-president, Client Solutions where she’s led the national growth strategy for a pivotal and innovative business that deepens our relationships with group and retail clients by providing the right solutions at the right time.

Legal & General Investment Management

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) has named Stephen Message as manager of the L&G UK Equity Income Fund, with £268 m in assets under management. Message will oversee £1b in assets across LGIM’s UK Income fund range.

Message joined LGIM in August 2017. He was previously at Old Mutual Global Investors, where he managed the Old Mutual UK Equity Income Fund and prior to this, he was an equity fund manager at Bessemer Trust.

PIMCO

PIMCO has hired Adam Iqbal as executive vice president and portfolio manager and Michael Davidson as senior vice resident and portfolio manager as the firm strengthens its global capabilities in currency markets.

Davidson joined the firm in September and Iqbal will join in November. Both portfolio managers will be based in London.

Prior to joining PIMCO, Iqbal was EMEA head of G10 Options at Goldman Sachs where he traded European currency options while Davidson was a trader at HSBC where he specialized in East European rates.

Hawksford

Hawksford has appointed Darren Kelland as global head of private clients. Hawksford is an international Corporate, Private Client and Funds business with clients in 115 countries. Earlier this year Hawksford secured a trust licence in Singapore.

A chartered accountant, Kelland has more than 13 years’ experience working with private clients and family offices.

Before joining Hawksford, Kelland was head of private wealth in Jersey at Intertrust (formerly Elian and Ogier FS) having previously held the role of director and head of the family office team, which he established in 2010.

Kelland was a key member of the organisation’s risk assessment committee and also led the acquisition and integration of Allied Trust Company during 2014/2015.

Kelland will be responsible for a team based across Jersey and Asia.

Schroders

Schroders has appointed Reto Schwager as chief executive of Schroder Adveq.

Schwager joins from the financial services group Orix Corporation where he was global head of private equity at Robeco and member of the executive committee of Robeco SAM.

Prior to which he was a partner and member of the executive board at Partners Group. Before that he was chairman of AIG Investment (Europe).

Schwager will be based in Zurich and report to Stephen Mills, executive chairman of Schroder Adveq.

He succeeds Sven Liden in the role of chief executive and will join the company on 01 January 2018. In the interim Stephen Mills assumes his responsibilities.

LGM Investments

LGM Investments, BMO Global Asset Management’s specialist emerging markets manager, has promoted Anders Anker Heegaard to Portfolio Manager, responsible for co-managing the BMO LGM Asian Smaller Companies and BMO LGM Asian Growth and Income funds.

Heegard was previously an analyst in the team, a role he held since he joined LGM Investments in 2014. Before this he was an Analyst at BLS Capital Management.
