Duerden had been head of investment policy at Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management, also in Guernsey.
The role was described as a new one at the company, although overseeing the wealth management operation had been done by others in a less senior capacity.
Duerden began his career in accountancy, before moving into investment management in 1987, when he joined Credit Suissse, and has worked in a number of private client and investment management roles in Guernsey, Switzerland and New York, during a career that spans more than 25 years.
At Rothschild, Duerden reports to Mark Kary, head of Rothschild’s UK Wealth Management business.
Rothschild’s Wealth Management & Trust business is part of Rothschild, one of the world’s largest independent financial advisory groups. RWM&T has principal offices in Frankfurt, London and Zurich.
