Christophe Karpiel will be based in the Geneva office and will report to Nicole Curti, partner and managing director at Stanhope Capital Switzerland.

Karpiel has over 20 years of experience with ultra-high net worth clients (UNHW), and has previously held positions as deputy head of UNHW portfolio management at BNP Paribas and senior portfolio manager at IXUS Asset Management.

On the appointment, Curti said: “We have ambitious plans in terms of both recruitment and expansion in Switzerland, and a key component of our philosophy is to be uncompromising in our search for talented investment professionals such as Christophe who will help to steer our investment management processes to best serve the interests of our Swiss-based clients.”

Stanhope Capital has offices in London and Geneva and provides investment management and advisory services to private clients, charities and endowments. It oversees approximately $9bn of investment assets on behalf of wealthy entrepreneurs, families, charities and other institutions around the world.

In April, the company made two additions to its team in the Channel Islands.

David Nolan and Jonathan Overland extended their positions as directors at Stanhope Capital’s holding company to help the development of the company’s business on the island.
