Aegon

Aegon UK platform strategy director Lou Macari will leave the company in May following its acquisition of Cofunds.

The deal to buy Cofunds for £140m was completed on 1 January, with the insurer confirming that it is now well on its way to becoming a “fully-fledged platform business”.

Macari joined Aegon in 2012 after working with Axa Wealth for eleven years. He was involved in the launch of Aegon’s direct to consumer proposition Retireready.

A spokesman for Aegon said he will leave the business on 3 May, but will be out of the office after 31 January.

The spokesman added that Macari had helped build Aegon’s platform over the last five years.

In another reshuffle, Aegon has appointed Andy Coleman, previously Cofunds commercial director, to the newly-created role of managing director of retail.

Coleman will be responsible for leading the distribution functions for both Cofunds and its direct platform Investor Portfolio Service, and Aegon UK.
