DeVere said that it plans to open additional European offices “by the end of the year”, but did not say which countries these would be located in.

The new deVere offices, in Nice, Paris and Toulouse, will begin operating next month, and will bring to 17 the total number of deVere outposts in Western Europe, deVere said.

Bayle is an experienced insurance and investment industry executive whose has held senior posts at such companies as Prudential and Siddalls. Most recently he was on the board of IFG Financial Services, the UK-based financial advisory firm, which owns Siddalls, an offshore IFA group with operations in France.

In addition to heading up deVere’s new French business, Bayle is also taking over the management of the company’s UK operation, deVere & Partners (UK), deVere said.

DeVere expects France to “quickly become a key market for us, in light of the demand we’ve received for our services in the region to date”, according to Mike Coady, the company’s regional manager for Western Europe.

Based in Zurich, deVere has more than 50,000 clients in more than 100 countries and more than $7bn under administration and management, according to its website.
