The platform focuses on portfolio construction, putting risk at the forefront of the asset allocation process to actively manage volatility.
Introducing the platform, John Hailer, chief executive officer at NGAM – The Americas & Asia, commented: “The new realities of today’s markets are a global concern, and investors worldwide are anxious about risk and volatility. No financial market, no country, no investor, is immune from economic and market turmoil.
“Faced with a prolonged period of volatility and uncertainty, it’s time to start building more durable portfolios.”
The Durable Portfolio Construction platform uses traditional asset classes as well as alternative investments, using non-correlated investment strategies such as hedging and going long/short.
Alongside this launch, the firm has also expanded its Portfolio Research and Consulting Group, run by Matthew Coldren, executive vice president, client solutions group, and Marina Gross, senior vice president, portfolio research and consulting to add more portfolio consultants and analysts.
It has also introduced a research centre to provide advisers with detailed analysis about asset allocation and risk management.
