Rash Patel joins from MFS International, where he spent eight years looking after relationships with institutional investors throughout the UK.
He previously worked at Barclays Global Investors for seven years following several years at UBS. He has also held positions at Mercer and Fidelity.
RWC head of sales, James Tollemache, said: “[Patel] will be working alongside Joanna Lancaster who is responsible for our relationships with consultants.”
Patel said: “At nearly $10bn, RWC has established a strong base across a number of very interesting investment teams, and there is significant room for growth.
“As with all the teams at RWC, the strategies are unconstrained in their approach and therefore offer clarity of purpose to their clients.
“In today’s world there is little room for pseudo beta strategies and I can see a great opportunity for RWCs institutional business to make significant strides in years to come.”
In April, the company launched a global dividend fund for star duo Ian Lance and Nick Purves which aims to “build on the success” of a similar UK focused strategy already managed by the pair.
The Luxembourg listed RWC Global Enhanced Dividend Fund offers investors global equity exposure, with a targeted yield of around 6%, as well as long term capital appreciation.
Additionally, RWC said the fund aims to have a total return consisting of the income and the capital gain with a volatility of less than the equity markets.
